Matthew Earley Lindamood grew up in Vienna, W.Va., a town in the Mid-Ohio Valley. He attended Parkersburg High School, and was a rare talent in both football and wrestling. By the time he graduated, his accomplishments included multiple state championships in both sports, runner-up for the Kennedy Award (the state’s top football player), several All-State recognitions, MVP as a senior (football), and Academic All-American (wrestling).
After graduating from Parkersburg High, Matt turned down several scholarship offers from other institutions to walk on to the football team at West Virginia University (WVU). As a Mountaineer, he continued his academic and athletic success. Matt’s coaches and teammates showed their appreciation for him by voting him to be the recipient of the Tom Nikolich Memorial Award and the Iron Mountaineer Award. These honors are for the team’s top walk-on contributor and top offseason performer, respectively. His best playing memory was the 70-33 victory over a highly ranked Clemson team in the Orange Bowl. However, arguably his most valuable achievements in college were being awarded a full football scholarship and earning a B.S. in Exercise Physiology.
At WVU, Matt became passionate about investing in the lives of those around him. He was even honored among all student-athletes as one of the Community Service Outreach Award recipients. Taking into account his studies and his experiences with team support staff, he recognized how significant an impact could be made by strength and conditioning coaches who desire to build up their athletes for on and off the field performance.
Matt has a unique diversity of experience when it comes to training, having worked with middle schoolers, D1 athletes, professionals, and even Olympic hopefuls. Prior to starting Lindamood Performance, he interned with the Northwestern University football team and gained valuable experience in the private sector at TCBOOST Sports Performance (Northbrook, IL). While at TCBOOST, Matt was the Director of Speed Development and served as the head strength coach for Glenbrook South High School (Glenview, IL).
Desiring to offer a specific type of service, Matt started Lindamood Performance in 2017 to help athletes reach their full potential on and off the field. Shortly after launching his company, Matt worked under Michael Drach Training before branching off on his own to further develop his philosophy and unique approach.
Coach Lindamood is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), holds Level 1 & 2 certifications through Functional Movement Systems (FMS) and is a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach. He studied under some of the top sports performance companies and coaches in the world including 3 Phases of EXOS’ Mentorship and Level 1 of Mike Boyle’s Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC).
Matt currently resides in the greater Chicago area. In his free time he enjoys hanging with family and friends all over the world and his favorite hobbies are playing guitar, surfing, and snowboarding.
